Good news! We are quite relieved to report out that is it unlikely that Brinley has retinoblastoma. We were able to visit UCSF today for an eye exam and MRI/MRA imaging. While results are still preliminary, the doctor who performed the eye exam reported that based on the eye exam alone, it is unlikely that she has retinoblastoma. He mentioned that the imaging provided from the MRI will likely confirm his diagnosis, but we won’t have those results until Thursday. While he did not observe the presence of a tumor or mass, he did capture photos of a significantly detached retina. Therefore, the doctor confirmed what we had previously suspected, that unfortunately Brinley will not have vision in her right eye. We have been told that we should receive the full diagnosis of the eye exam and the results of the MRI on Thursday. Once we have additional details, we will provide a more comprehensive update.

We want to thank everyone for all your prayers, positivity, and support. Going in to these appointments this morning with the potential scenario that our baby girl could have a cancer diagnosis was extremely difficult. However, we were able to stay positive and encouraged from the love we have received from our friends and family over the past few days. We can’t thank you enough! More to come tomorrow.
