Update from the Bakers — July 8, 2025

Keith has officially begun to lose his hair, and this morning we had some fun with it—rocking a mohawk before it all goes! In other news, Keith will start his second cycle of chemotherapy on Monday. We’re continuing to take things one day at a time, and each day brings new reminders of just how supported we are.

The outpouring of kindness we’ve received has been truly overwhelming—in the best way. From texts and phone calls, to thoughtful gifts, care packages, help in our garden, house cleaning, and even organizing our garage—people are showing up in ways we never could have imagined. It makes us feel anything but alone right now. We are so grateful.

Tomorrow is Lauren’s birthday, and I (Keith) want to say how lucky I am to have her unwavering love and support through this journey. I truly could not brave this without her by my side.

To celebrate, we’re heading to Guerneville for a relaxing day at the new River Electric Swim Camp and plan to spend time hiking through the beautiful redwoods of Armstrong Woods. We’re looking forward to this time together to rest, reflect, and celebrate the incredible woman who holds us all together.

Thank you all for being part of our journey. We feel your love in every moment.

With gratitude,
The Bakers

Happy Birthday Lauren! I sure hope the whole family enjoyed the beautiful day together in Guerneville. I’ve been thinking about a walk there for quite some time. You’ve motivated me to get out there and do it. You are inspirations! Love, Karen and Chuck

Love the haircut Keith! And Lauren has a great birthday – it’s mine as well!! Stay strong, eat well and drink plenty of fluids – rest is your best friend. I have got through half of my radiation appointments and have the until the 22nd to finally be done.
